Find Your Culinary Future in One of the Most Exciting Cities in America

Although there are hundreds of different places to attend culinary school in the United States, many aspiring chefs opt to attend a school in a city. Cities typically have more dining opportunities, greater ethnic influences and more chances to learn from world renowned chefs.

Here are a few of the top cities to attend culinary school in the United States. Each offers something unique to chefs and food enthusiasts alike.

    Dallas

This city is the third largest urban destination in the state of Texas, and it boasts a wide range of Tex-Mex, Southwestern and classic Texan cuisine. It is home to a large number of hotels and upscale restaurants, and diners in the area are known to have an advanced and discriminating palate, forcing the chefs in the area to be creative and inspired.

The city is a top destination for those who want to try traditional cowboy cooking, pioneer fare and beef barbecue.

    Los Angeles

This incredible city is a blend of various ethnic cultures, so it should come as no surprise that the culinary scene is just as varied. The city's location close to the Mexican border means that Hispanic foods are commonly found, and many of the local restaurants feature traditional Central American fare.

With a sizable number of Asian immigrants from destinations like Korea, Japan and China, Asian fusion cuisine is also abundant. The warm weather, fresh produce available year round and significant number of dining establishments in this large city makes Los Angeles one of the world's most popular cities to attend culinary school.

    Orlando

This city in central Florida is one of the most visited tourism destinations on Earth. Thanks to large convention centers and amusement parks like Universal Studios and the Walt Disney World Resort, millions of tourists make their way to Orlando each year.

The influence of visitors from around the world means that restaurants serve high quality food from a number of different regions. Dozens of celebrity chefs have flagship restaurants in the city, and it has an exciting and contemporary atmosphere for new chefs just breaking into the business.

    Houston

Just like Dallas, this city in Texas is famous for cowboy cooking and Tex-Mex cuisine. You might be surprised to learn that the residents of Houston eat out more than the residents of any other city in the United States.

That fact, along with very low food prices, means that dining is truly a way of life in the city. Mexican influences are obvious, but the beef culture and barbecue traditions also play a big role in the city's culinary landscape.

    Miami

This city in South Florida has one of the most vibrant and exciting cultural scenes. The food is a large part of that culture, and boasts influences from Latin America, the Caribbean Islands and even the American South.

From classic breakfasts of biscuits and gravy to exotic dinners in traditional Cuban restaurants, dining is diverse and truly exciting for food enthusiasts and aspiring chefs attending culinary school in Miami.

    San Diego

Just like L.A., this California city boasts a blend of cultures from around the world that contribute to the culinary fare. Immigrants from Asia, Europe and Central American provide the biggest influences on the food of the city.

Local food carts and independently owned restaurants are the most popular for diners, allowing chefs to take chances in the kitchen and really experiment with the fresh local ingredients.

Although attending culinary school anywhere will broaden your horizons and teach you new skills in the kitchen, living in one of these six top cities while attending culinary school will allow you to explore new cuisines and exotic flavor combinations at the same time.
